Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Refresher Program
 
JVS in collaboration with the City College of San Francisco (CCSF) offers a 17-week, 4 day/week training program for Licensed Vocational and Registered Nurses, trained either in the United States or abroad, who need a refresher course or want a nursing skills brush-up to reenter the nursing field. This is a successful 17-year program offered in collaboration between JVS, CCSF’s Vocational Nursing Program, and local medical facilities.

This cycle is being made available as an employment retraining program via the JVS Health Care Academy to eligible San Francisco residents interested in refreshing their nurse skills to reenter the nursing field.

The program offers:

  • Theoretical practice & clinical experience at City College of San Francisco, San Francisco General Hospital and Laguna Honda Hospital
  • General support completing the course (individualized coaching & referral to resources)
  • Job placement assistance – we’ll help you get your first or next Nurse job!

You can participate in this program if you have:

  • CA LVN or RN license (valid or expired)
  • Valid authorization to work in the U.S.
  • A CCSF ESL level of 130 or above (if a non-native English speaker)
  • San Francisco residency, low income or dislocated worker status.
The LVN Refresher course will run from August 23 – December 14, 2010.
