About the Program
The no-cost JVS Nursing Refresher Program helps experienced Registered Nurses with active licenses confidently return to the workforce. This flexible, self-paced program combines online coursework, hands-on skills training, and a 120-hour supervised hospital clinical practicum. Participants apply refreshed knowledge in real patient care settings and receive job search support to transition into RN roles across the San Francisco Bay Area.
Program Details
- This program starts on April 23 and ends on September 3
- This is a 18-week program: 12-weeks of self-paced online training (~20 hrs a week), one full day in-person skills practice at SFSU, and 120 hrs of practicum at a clinical site in San Francisco
- Graduates will receive: SFSU CPaGE certificate of completion, 30 CEUs, and JVS post-program job placement assistance
Eligibility
- Must provide a valid California RN license
- Must be a resident of San Francisco Bay Area
- Must be 18 years of age or older and interested in securing meaningful employment with opportunities for economic growth
- Must be able to provide a U.S. high school diploma, GED, or equivalency with translation
- Should have a valid authorization to work in the United States, such as U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or an employment authorization card
- Must be able to provide updated immunizations record and pass occupational health screening
- Must provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination
