Interns have completed:
- 100-300 hours of technical training in occupations specific to the healthcare and technology sectors
- 10 hours of JVS’s Emotional Intelligence Training suite – a soft skills training with a focus on intra- and inter-personal skills that are contextualized to their specific occupational field
- 20+ hours of Job Search Readiness training

To qualify for partnership with JVS, companies must meet the following criteria:
- Location: Your company should be located in San Francisco, Alameda, and Contra Costa counties.
- Internship Duration: Employers must host an intern for 2-3 months, providing about 32 hours of work per week, and offering mentorship throughout the internship.
- Collaborative Environment: Foster a collaborative and supportive working environment for JVS interns.
- Financial Commitment: Commit to a financial contribution that covers between 75-100% of the intern wages during the internship.
Host a Dental Assistant Intern
Our participants receive 11 weeks of training to gain in-demand skills for entry-level dental assisting positions and qualify to become an Registered Dental Assistant within 15 months. Since 2018, JVS has successfully trained more than 200 dental assistants with 95% placed in jobs.
Alum will be certified in: Radiation Safety, Infection Control, BLS, Dental Practice Act and have hands-on experience with:

Host an IT Support Intern
Our IT Support alum receive extensive training and hands-on experience in key day-to-day IT support tasks including computer assembly, wireless network setup, program installations, and delivering excellent customer service.
Every graduate is trained beyond the basics in:
- Debugging
- Troubleshooting
- Linux command line
- Cloud computing
- Systems administration
- Encryption algorithms and techniques
- Hardware repair
