When Maurice first encountered JVS, he was working as a mechanic and taking automotive classes at City College of San Francisco in pursuit of his Associate’s Degree. In 2019, he came across a JVS flyer for our Automotive Pre-Apprentice Program run in partnership with San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) and realized he could start his career with the City. Maurice was accepted into the program, and in his time at SFMTA, he has gone from Pre-Apprentice to Machinist, and he even sits on the hiring board for new pre-apprentices.
