As Chief Development Officer, Sarah oversees development and marketing & communications at JVS with a focus on creating, implementing, and supporting comprehensive, sustainable, and creative fundraising strategies. With more than 20 years experience working in philanthropy and the social impact sector, Sarah is committed to ensuring equity and access to opportunities for all people. Prior to JVS, Sarah spent 16 years at the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy where she focused her efforts on connecting people to open space and working to ensure that national parks are a place of belonging, safety, and solace for everyone. She has also worked at Hispanics in Philanthropy, Environmental Traveling Companions, Sonoma State University, and UC Press Foundation and has served as an educator at Cal Poly State University, West Valley College, and Gavilan College. Sarah previously served on the board of Refugee Transitions. Sarah holds a master’s degree in English Literature and Creative Writing.
