About the Program
Turn your passion for cars into a career. The Automotive Trades Pathway Program is a no-cost training program that provides hands-on automotive training, industry-recognized certifications, career coaching, and an earn and learn opportunity. You’ll learn from industry professionals, build real-world skills, and explore career pathways in automotive trades while earning as you learn. Graduate with the experience, certifications, and confidence to take the first step toward a successful automotive career.
Program Details
- The 18-week online training run by JVS and CCSF
- This program runs from September 10 through June 1, 2027
- Participants will be paid to learn entry-level automotive skills
- Upon successful completion of the training program, participants will be credentialed in OSHA 10 and Forklift Safety
Eligibility
- Must be a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area
- Must be able to provide a U.S. high school diploma, GED, or equivalency with translation
- Should have a valid legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Must be available and present for the entire duration of the program
- Must have a Valid CA driver’s license

What You’ll Learn
- Foundational Automotive Curriculum: Build a strong foundation in automotive systems through City College of San Francisco’s (CCSF) blended online and in-person curriculum
- Industry-Recognized Credentials: Earn and prepare for employer-valued credentials, including OSHA 10, Forklift Safety, and ASE test preparation
- Hands-On “Earn and Learn” Experience: Gain real-world experience in an entry-level automotive role while continuing your training for advanced positions
- Job Search Support and Career Coaching: Receive personalized career coaching, resume and interview preparation, and job search support
