From March 11-13, 2025, Lisa and the SFCC delegates engaged directly with policymakers and key stakeholders on a range of critical issues impacting San Francisco. Together, they advocated directly for policies that promote economic growth, drive innovation, and strengthen urban resilience.

“It’s crucial that our federal representatives understand the vital role workforce development plays in the future of San Francisco and California,” Countryman-Quiroz explains. “As new opportunities arise, JVS will continue to champion the needs of jobseekers everywhere who are working to build lasting economic mobility for themselves and their families.”

Over the three day trip, the San Francisco delegation met with Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Rep. Lateefah Simon, Rep. Mark Desaulnier, Sen. Adam Schiff, Rep. Sam Liccardo, Rep. Eric Swalwell, Rep. Jared Huffman, Rep. John Garamendi, Rep. Josh Harder, Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, and staff members from Rep. Kevin Mullin’s office, Gov. Gavin Newsom’s office, the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, the California Democratic Caucus, and DC Mayor Muriel Bowser’s office, among others.
